4 Ways to Head Off Summer Skin Problems

Summer’s excellent in so many ways, but all that sun, sea and sand can wreak havoc with your skin if you’re not looking after it properly. The skin care routine you’ve perfected over the cooler months won’t quite cut it when faced with the sweat and grime of beach season, so it’s time to develop a new regimen to keep you looking fantastic. 1. Wear Sunscreen

Everyone knows you’re supposed to wear sunscreen every time you step outside the house, no matter how cloudy it may look. Sunscreen protects your skin from the sun’s harmful rays and potential consequences of UV exposure.

It seems obvious, but you need to wash your face more when it’s hot. After a day at the beach, by the pool or cooking outdoors, the lure of your bed can be strong, but a few extra minutes washing up can make a huge difference. Make a bedtime face wash a key part of your summer skin care routine.

Treat yourself to regular facials during the summer. You’ll feel relaxed and refreshed and your skin will definitely thank you for it. Remember – while a facial can counteract some summer skin damage, you should be extra vigilant with your skin care afterwards, including limiting sun exposure.
