The majority of women who get breast implants can expect to undergo breast implant revision at some point in their lives. One of the most popular reasons for breast implant revision is to change implant size. If you feel discontent with the appearance of your breasts after your first augmentation, it may be time to consider whether swapping out your breast implants for a different size is the right step forward for you.
When Personal Tastes Change
It’s fairly common for women who’ve had breast augmentation in the past to feel that their implant size no longer matches with their current aesthetic preferences or lifestyle. After enjoying large implants for a number of years, some women are eager to swap out bigger implants for a more subtle look. On the flip side, many others choose to get larger implants to further accentuate their figures.
First Timer’s Remorse
For those who do wish that they’d gotten a bigger breast implant size the first time around, modern technology provides a useful tool for determining whether your new results will fit your ideal. Today, many plastic surgery practices offer Vectra 3D Imaging, which allows you to see images of your own figure with various types and sizes of breast implants, helping you get a clear sense of what your final outcome will look like so that you can be sure you’ll be happy with your updated results.
Look for a Specialist
When you decide you’re ready to change your implants, it’s important to find an experienced breast revision specialist. Look for a board-certified plastic surgeon who specializes in breast implant revision procedures. Their experience and expertise can guide you towards the implant size that’s perfect for you while their surgical skill will help ensure that you get the best outcome.
