Cellulite Treatment Liposuction

Which Is Better: Liposuction or Cellulaze™?

Laser Hair Removal

When it comes to improving your contours for a more streamlined figure, there are few cosmetic treatments more popular and highly praised than liposuction. Liposuction is a fat reducing procedure that can minimize bulges of fat that remain resistant to your most dedicated dieting and exercise efforts. However, another cosmetic treatment, called Cellulaze™, boasts a similar ability to create a smoother, fitter appearance, but with a completely different approach.

The Benefits of Liposuction

The best candidates for liposuction are men or women who have reached a stable weight, but have isolated pockets of fat that persist despite a healthy lifestyle. These pockets of fat, commonly found around the love handles, the double chin, upper arms, thighs or back, are comprised of subcutaneous fat. Liposuction can permanently remove fat cells to smooth out these stubborn bulges.

The Benefits of Cellulaze™

Cellulaze™, on the other hand, is not a fat reducing procedure. Instead, Cellulaze™ targets the appearance of cellulite, helping men and women achieve a smoother, more youthful skin texture. Cellulite is not necessarily related to your amount of body fat. Instead, cellulite develops as a result of restrictive tissue bands under the skin that cause fat cells to bunch together, creating a dimpled appearance. Cellulaze™ uses laser energy to release these restrictive tissue bands and firm the overlying skin, reducing cellulite in the treatment area.

Combining Liposuction and Cellulaze™

Whether liposuction or Cellulaze™ is better for you depends on your appearance concerns, but many patients choose to combine the treatments for the best of both worlds. While liposuction can reduce fatty bulges, lipo does not improve the appearance of cellulite. That’s why many liposuction patients may choose to get Cellulaze™ treatments after their liposuction results develop to further improve their final look.
