When prospective clients come in for a treatment of opens in a new windowBOTOX® Cosmetic at my San Diego clinic, they often ask what they should expect following the procedure. I tell all my patients that the recovery period is one of the best features of BOTOX® Cosmetic, because it’s practically non-existent.
The procedure itself takes just a few minutes. I choose which specific muscles should be targeted by the injections in order to get the optimum results, and administer each shot accordingly. This is an outpatient procedure, and patients can leave the office immediately following their round of BOTOX® Cosmetic. My San Diego patients are usually eager to return to their normal routine, and BOTOX® Cosmetic is so minimally invasive that they can do just that. The one thing to keep in mind is not to massage or rub the treated areas, since this could cause the injections to be redistributed to different areas of the face. You should also avoid laying flat for a few hours. There is occasionally redness at the injection site, but this is only temporary and should fade rapidly.
BOTOX® Cosmetic is called a “lunchtime treatment” for good reason. The procedure itself is very simple and lets you get right back to your regularly scheduled life without a long recovery period. Yet, the results of this process can eliminate years off your appearance, and can last for several months.
