If you Google “when is the best season for liposuction,” you’ll find countless articles explaining why each season is deemed the best. Summer could be a good fit if you like to stay indoors to beat the heat, while winter liposuction can get you geared up for summer vacation next year.
The truth is, there is no single best season to get liposuction. The best time to get lipo is when it works most conveniently for you. So here are a few things to consider when planning your upcoming lipo procedure to get the timing just right.
1. What Does Your Schedule Look Like?
Plan your liposuction procedure around your “off” season — a time when things tend to slow down and you have some time to catch your breath and focus on yourself. For teachers, this might be the summer months. On the other hand, for working moms with kids at home for the summer, fall or winter might be slower times of the year. Choose the season that fits best into your schedule and routine to start moving forward with your procedure, whether it’s hot, cold, or just right outside.
2. Do You Have a Specific Goal in Mind?
Maybe you have a big summer trip planned and want to enjoy a slimmer physique in a bathing suit. Or possibly you want to look your best for an annual family reunion in the fall, or Christmas photos in the winter. Whatever your plans may be, don’t wait until the last minute to start thinking about liposuction. Plan ahead of time so you can heal without feeling rushed and see your results in plenty of time for your event.
It can take up to six months to see your final liposuction results, depending on the area(s) you choose to have treated and how invasive the procedure is. However, you will likely see results beginning to develop much sooner as swelling diminishes.
3. Are You Mentally, Physically, and Financially Prepared?
Just because a particular season that is touted as the “best” time for liposuction has rolled around doesn’t mean you have to scramble to book your procedure right away. More important than the season, is whether or not you are fully prepared emotionally, physically and financially for an elective procedure.
- Do you have emotional support while beginning your plastic surgery journey, and do you feel that you are in good mental health and able to make a sound decision about whether or not liposuction could be right for you?
- Are you in good physical health and close to your ideal weight, or would you rather shed a few more pounds before getting liposuction?
- Do you have a savings goal you were hoping to hit before moving forward with body contouring surgery?
Ask yourself these questions to help you decide if now could be the best time for you to get liposuction.
