Essential Oils for Natural Beauty

Natural Beauty

We all strive for a more holistic approach to our wellbeing, looking to more natural solutions to everyday tasks and challenges. What is strange is the comparatively minimal amount of natural products we use in our daily beauty regimen.

You may already be aware of the benefits of essential oils, possibly even using them in other facets of your life. There are essential oils that help with back pain, disinfect wounds and even promote healing. It, therefore, stands to reason that there exist solutions for all your beauty needs. Essential oils are becoming a staple ingredient in more and more beauty products to meet the new demand for natural skincare among the masses.

Skin Hydration

Keeping skin moisturized is one of the most important things to do to avoid visible ageing. While commercially available moisturizers are great, they often suffer two failings. The first is that they are very pricey, and the second is that they all pretty much only do one thing.

All of the over the top claims tend to be precisely that, and the few products that do offer results are the same ones that hurt the pocket. Fortunately, there is a natural and inexpensive option. Lavender oil is a potent hydrating agent.

Irritation

One of the best things about many essential oils is the diversity of uses they offer. Lavender, for example, doesn’t only hydrate, it also effectively treats a wide range of skin irritations. Everything from a rash to pimples can be treated with this nifty natural product.

Another great essential oil to use for skin irritation, including rashes, is tea tree oil. With anti-inflammation properties, tea tree oil will reduce swelling, promote healing and put a stop to any itching.

For Oily Skin

Oily skin is often a contributing factor. This is aside from it not being the look of any season! There are a couple of ways to go about treating oily skin with essential oils, but possibly the most effective is Ylang Ylang.

As an encore, Ylang Ylang also promotes cell regeneration and decreases visible lines and wrinkles. It is no wonder then why we see this natural remedy labelled as an ingredient in many of the best beauty products on the market.

Rejuvenation

It wouldn’t be an excellent beauty routine if you didn’t combat all the signs of ageing. Frankincense is one of the most potent essential oils. Used for a variety of anti-ageing applications, it has a trick up its sleeve.

Frankincense promotes skin elasticity. Along with hydration, skin elasticity is the biggest gun in your arsenal when combating visible wrinkles. It also actively triggers skin cell regeneration, making it the perfect post-exfoliation treatment.

Cellulite

You may not have expected to come across a feasible, natural and effective treatment for cellulite. Citrus oil forms the main component of many of the leading anti-cellulite creams. It is the safest and, possibly, least expensive solution available.

Citrus oil has the added benefit of removing toxins. It is, after all, a buildup of toxins that leads to a lot of the skin damage we struggle with. If this weren’t enough, it has also been shown to improve mood. A different angle from which to attack frown lines perhaps!
