Breast Augmentation Breast Enhancement Breast Lift

Breast Lift with Implants: 2 Examples

Breast Lift with Implants

Breast lift is the most obvious choice for women looking to restore the fullness and position of their breast, but in some cases it’s possible to achieve dramatically better results by combining a lift procedure with breast implants. Breast augmentation is often the best procedure overall to dramatically improve the shape and feel of breasts that have been challenged by nursing, pregnancy, hormonal changes, and weight fluctuations. But in many cases an augmentation alone is not quite enough, and a breast lift is the key to complete the results. Examples:

Younger Women with Minimal Breast Volume

Weight fluctuations, or genetics can cause even young women with smaller breasts to have “flat” looking breasts that appear saggy. Nipple position is often the real culprit behind this “droopy” appearance, and in this situation breast lift is probably not the best choice to create improvements. Breast lift actually “lifts” the position of the breast mound by removing tissue, a process that can produce dramatic, positive results for larger-breasted women but that might be inappropriate or ineffective for women who have smaller breasts to start with.

Depending on the patient, I usually recommend a combination of a small-scale lift to adjust the nipple position, with implants to restore the breast curve and correct any asymmetries. In a few cases, breast augmentation alone is enough achieve the patient’s goals, but for thorough, balanced results it’s usually necessary to perform a minor lift at the same time.

Mature Woman with Wider, “Flat” Breasts

With age, as surface tissues become thinner and more stretched. The result is that even if the total volume of the breast might stay the same, its shape changes, so the breast mound tends to become flat and wide. In some cases, a breast lift is the best choice to tighten and firm those loose surface tissues and restore the breast mound to the shape it used to have. But in most cases, the normal effects of time cause some loss of breast volume along with the changes to their breast shape, and a breast lift alone cannot fully correct both problems. In this case, it is best to choose a combined breast lift with augmentation at the same time. The chief benefit of this procedure is that it approaches the same problem from 2 different angles: the implant will help give a fuller, perkier shape and restore cleavage, while the lift will help ensure the breast mound overall appears higher and firmer. The end result is a more youthful appearance that can help restore your confidence and vitality.

Every patient is different, and many patients can get great results from just the single procedure alone. But if a more curvy, feminine, and youthful appearance is your goal and lack of volume is part of the problem, a combination procedure is probably the most effective way to correct the problems created by gravity, loose  excess skin, and lack of fullness. This option is typically the best choice to improve the look and feel of the breast at the same time.
