3 Liposuction Mistakes You Do NOT Want to Make

Liposuction

When you’re researching liposuction, most of the topics you look into will probably focus on what you should do. For example, you should only work with a board-certified plastic surgeon and you should remember that liposuction isn’t a substitute for a healthy diet and regular exercise routine. It’s also important to be aware of some of the common mistakes people make when opting for liposuction, so you know what you should NOT be doing.

  1. Don’t Expect to Be Skinny the Next Day

You can expect to look slightly better the day after liposuction, but you won’t see anything resembling the final results. Generally, the results of liposuction will take a few weeks to become visible and up to several months to develop completely. A little patience will go a long way when waiting to see how your new improved shape looks.

  2. Don’t Be Afraid to Ask Questions

This applies both before and after your liposuction. Your board-certified plastic surgeon will want you to be as well-informed as possible, particularly when it comes to what you should and shouldn’t be doing during your recovery period. The more questions the better, and there’s no such thing as a stupid question. If you’re not entirely sure, ask! Your plastic surgeon will be more than happy to provide answers to your liposuction questions.

  3. Don’t Ignore Your Plastic Surgeon’s Advice

During your initial consultation, your board-certified plastic surgeon will assess your suitability for liposuction. Any advice you’re given at this point will be based on extensive experience and may include advice on the best time to go ahead with liposuction. The post-surgical instructions your plastic surgeon provides are just as important, if not more so. Don’t risk the results of your liposuction by ignoring them.
